RBC XV Wrap

Big thanks to everyone who came down to Rehoboth for our annual soccer shindig at the Beach. The weather was hot and humid but we survived two days of spirited play and even more spirited parties.Huge thank you to Christina who was volunteer extraordinaire! She was everywhere doing everything!  And the field lining crew of Andy, Mark, Christina, Eddie, John, and JC did a fantastic job. The whole RBC Committee including Andy Sylvia and Colleen Lally who were co-chairs along with Alison Samuels, Mike Crews, Mark Swansiger, Christina Hughes, John Donahue, Jim Ensor, Tom Van Wagner, and Dennis Fish are to be commended for the huge amount of work they did putting the event together. Thanks also to Beth Aronson for helping us get the fields and Greg Shirk for ordering the portable toilets.This year's tournament dinner at the Sands Hotel with a great view of the beach and very good food was a highlight along with an appearance there by Mitzi Ball.Thanks to our friends old and new from Philly for joining us, as well as Kyle from Chicago, old Fed Matt Borkowski who came in from Milwaukee and the boys who made the trek down from Albany, NY.Thanks to the referees who kept the games moving, safe and fair.Congrats to the award winners. Winningest squad honors went to team k.d. who were Matt Borkowski, Travis Hunnings, Nick Napolitano, Corrine Land, Rishi Das, Yunio Martinez, and David Tristano. The PK contest winner was Carlos Rosales. There was a two-way tie for the male golden boot winner between Travis Hunnings and Eric Brizuela with 8 goals each. And a four-way tie in the female golden boot race between Alison Samuels, Amanda Lyndaker, Cara Mauldin and Denise Rossi who had two goals apiece. Outstanding defender was Rob Shumowski. And Outstanding goalkeeper was Laura McCarthy. Plans will be getting under way shortly for next year's edition. If you'd like to volunteer to help out, please let us know!
