Potential Budget

  • Games - Registration is $195 for the games themselves, and an additional $90 for soccer. Team DC also usually has a kit to buy for the opening and closing ceremonies for $20. $305 total.
  • Hotel - Doubletree Hilton is the cheapest of the downtown Cleveland hotels at $169 a night for a quad. With a tax rate of 16.5%, that amounts to $197. So split 4 ways for 8 days, that’s $394 total.
  • Transportation - Cleveland is 368 miles away. The venue is 35 miles each way.  Between driving there, driving back and commuting during the week, a car might put on about 1000 miles, or roughly $120 worth of gas. With 4 in the car, that’s $30 each.
  • Food and Drink - This is difficult to put in a budget. Everyone has to eat regardless of whether they’re on vacation or not, so you’re really only accounting for extra costs that you wouldn’t normally spend. Eating out can get expensive but it doesn’t have to. Fundraising will also ideally help us offset the cost of the team outing. Extra drinking tends to take place on these trips too. Arbitrarily, I’m going to put $200 here.
  • Excursions - Cedar Point is the country’s best amusement park only an hour away. With a group rate of $37, this seems like a perfect excursion for the off day. Also, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must for anyone visiting Cleveland. Regular admission is $22 but for a group it’s $18. That amounts to $55 total.

 Total - $984
