Welcome Newcomers!
We'd like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who met us at Pride (or found us via search engine).FTSC has myriad programs, teams, and events that should allow everyone to find a happy home with us. Here are a few highlights of things that are coming up (click the links for more info):
- FTSC Academy Session - This Saturday, June 14 at 10AM we'll be hosting a skills-building training session at Washington-Lee HS in Arlington.
- World Cup Bracket Challenge - In conjunction with our friends at Nellie's Sports Bar we're presenting a World Cup bracket challenge. Select the result of all the matches. If you are most correct you win a $200 gift card! Deadline for entry is kickoff of the first match, Thursday, June 12 at 4PM.
- Screaming Eagles' Pride Tailgate - Our friends at the Screaming Eagles D.C. United supporters' group are holding a special Pride month event at the D.C. United v Seattle Sounders match on June 28. They'll be waving rainbow flags throughout the match and will have special Pride tifo. Tickets for the match plus tailgate are $35. Game only $25. Join us for this fun event!
- Summer of Freedom League presented by Nellie's Sports Bar - Our annual intra-club summer coed league kicks off Tuesday, June 10. The league is full, but you can add your name to our subs list for matches when teams know they will be shorthanded.
- Rehoboth Beach Classic tournament - Our fun, social summer soccer tournament at Rehoboth Beach this year occurs over 4th of July weekend. You register as an individual and are assigned to a squad of about 7 players. Two squads are combined each match and play against two other squads. We mix and match throughout the event so that you will play with and against almost everyone else. There's also a tournament dinner on Saturday night and a picnic event on Sunday evening.
- Pickup Soccer - Our long-standing pickup program has been our ongoing weekly event since our founding 24 years ago. We play on Sunday mornings near the MLK Memorial in West Potomac Park from 9-11 AM. Please bring a white shirt and dark colored shirt if you're coming to pickup as that helps us when assigning people to teams. We also have special pickup sessions on the last Friday of each month at Bundy Field from 7-8:30PM.
