COVID-19 Update, One Year Out
It's been a full year since the COVID-19 pandemic caused the DC area and rest of the country to largely shut down for the first time. Many of those restrictions have prevented soccer, most sports, and other large gatherings from taking place. It has meant that our FTSC family has not been able to see each other in person for far too long. As of right now, it looks like we will have to wait at least a few more months before in-person events return.
The good news for this spring is that our country has been distributing three different vaccines at an impressive rate, and we hope that everyone in the club gets one when they become eligible. Also, everyone should continue to observe all COVID-19 best practices, in the hope that as many of us as possible will be able to meet again in reasonable time, happy and healthy.
We hope that we will be able to meet again, on and off the field, potentially by summer if the state of the world improves enough by then. We will always follow recommendations from the appropriate experts before fully considering a return to in-person events. In the meantime, we will continues to schedule virtual events like game nights, happy hours, and watch parties to give our FTSC family opportunities to continue interacting at a distance.
