FTSC Statement Regarding Nellie's

Dear all,

This past weekend, a violent incident marred Pride celebrations at one of our major sponsors. We, at the Federal Triangles Soccer Club, condemn the actions of and sentiment behind Nellie's treatment of their patron Keisha Young, which were grossly inappropriate regardless of whatever alleged situation led up to her forceful removal from Nellie's establishment. We stand by Keisha Young and her demand for justice.

FTSC is committed to fostering welcoming spaces for all members of the LGBTQ+ community. As such, FTSC will sever all ties with Nellie's, including their partnership as a sponsor, effective immediately. We hope that Nellie's ownership will do better by Black, Latinx, and female patrons in the future. We will not accept any attempts by Nellie's to reestablish a relationship with FTSC until such time that they sufficiently cultivate a space that welcomes and embraces the entire LGBTQ+ community here in Washington, DC.
