Weekend report, 6/14/21

Summer is fully here, and that means summer leagues! While most teams and leagues are still forming and will begin play soon, some FTSC members are already in action. Specifically, FTSC's Fruity Fives league has already begun, with five teams made up of our DI/DII men duking it out once again in 5v5 matches. The five teams are:

• CARDIff B
• GAGAtasary
• MINAJchester United
• OLIVIApool RODRIGO
• Real MADONNA

because we stan, and apparently we love puns far too much! Games are played at the Park View rec center on Wednesdays, with the first two games of the summer season having taken place this past week. CARDIff B had the bye in week one, while OLIVIApool RODRIGO topped MINAJchester United and, in one of the two big "feud" matches in the league, Real MADONNA fell to GAGAtasary. What will happen when MINAJchester United and CARDIff B first meet? We'll get to find out soon - this week in fact, as it will be one of two matches this Wednesday evening! The other match in week two is GAGAtasary versus OLIVIApool RODRIGO. The league runs for a total of ten weeks, giving a full "home and away" season, meaning every team faces each opponent twice, so there's a lot more Fruity Fives to be played this summer!

This coming weekend is also when several other leagues are expected to begin play, so we'll have even more match results to report on soon! Stay healthy and safe, everyone, and have fun seeing each other out on the pitch!
